The dead swans lay in the stagnant pool.
They lay. They rotted. They turned
Around occasionally.
Bits of flesh dropped off them from
Time to time.
And sank into the pool's mire.
They also smelt a great deal.

Ria Nieyli wrote:Pain does not teach respect. Your level of naivety is astounding. Macchiaveli would agree with you - assuming one is referring to a ruler choosing a method to retain his power - however he also stated that it was significantly easier and more efficient to be *feared* than "respected"
Additionally, there are different types of "pain" - and although it can certainly be easily over-used or mis-used to cause fear instead of respect - Properly applied pain has been one of the primary tools for instilling respect in children (and others) for thousands of years. It is only very recently that parents have been discouraged from using pain as a tool to build respect...and many would argue that we've seen a corresponding reduction in respect in direct response to this change... but that is beyond the scope of the game.

I don't even want you to elaborate - I don't really care. I just couldn't resist pointing that out

This is not peer review thus I do not have to quote anyone. Also Yoda did same I did. Some things were said already before Star Wars and its plagiarism as well. But hey, Lucas never plagiariyed, right? Give me a break. I understand if you don't feel you are up to my level, so you don't qualify as my peer - but I tend to feel that since we all play the same game and post on the same forums that makes us peers even if some of us are better at it than others.
In either case, I've clearly chosen to review your post one way or the other - and you clearly plagiarized it. You don't even deny it.
As for the original source - I simply picked the one I felt you were most likely to have stolen it from. But certainly it is not a new sentiment - and if you prefer to cite an older, better established source by all means feel free to do so. It doesn't change the fact that you blatantly plagiarized your statement rather than coming up with an original thought or even putting it into your own words...
